4 Days Mount Kenya Climbing Expedition Sirimon - Sirimon Route
Tour Schedule
Day 1
Drive from Nairobi to the town of Nanyuki for a short stop to meet the guide, cook and a team of porters as well as do food purchases. For hiking equipment, may also hire at this point, climbing shoes, windbreakers, sunglasses, baclava, sunscreen lotion and other personal items as may be advised by the guide.
rive to Sirimon Park entrance, clear with park fees and start off the climbing through dense thick tropical rain forest of Mt Kenya. Dinner and Overnight at Old Moses camp (3,300m asl)
Day 2
After breakfast, start off on 6-7 hours of climbing headed to Shiptons Camp (4,200m asl). The trip takes you through the moorland with the unique vegetation of senecios and lobelia—dinner and overnight.
Day 3
Pre-dawn hiking up to the Lenana peak Summit (17,000ft asl) through snow and icefields. Enjoy the Sun as it rises to a beautiful day. After the Summit, climb down to Shiptons Camp for breakfast.
After Breakfast, trek down the mountain back to Old Moses Camp to be picked by your transport to Nanyuki town. Dinner and overnight at a hotel.
Day 4
Drive back to Nairobi or join a wildlife safari.
